MESSAGE FROM THE FIRE CHIEF:

Thank you for visiting the web site of the Smithfield Volunteer Fire Department. Our site contains valuable information about our department and our community. I hope you will take the time to explore the different areas and links.

The Smithfield Volunteer Fire Department has the strength of 72 volunteer fire fighters, which serve a residential population of more than 10,000 citizens. Our quarters on S. Church St. and Grace St. provide services to a geographical area of over two hundred square miles, and we answer on average, 800 calls for service per year. Our first due response area includes residential, industrial, commercial, and rural occupancy types.

Our department provides the following services- Fire suppression, Vehicle Rescue, Emergency Medical Care, Hazardous Materials Mitigation, Public Education, and Fire Safety Training.
