Tuesday August 30 around 1700 hrs, the 15000 blk of Scotts Factory Rd was the scene of a large brush fire. Multiple units within the SVFD along with Rushmere VFD, Carrollton VFD and the Department of Forestry worked to control and contain the fire. The Suffolk Fire Department provided coverage in Smithfield during the incident.
